In 2021, after painting many small works, Jacelyn Orellana decided to create a bigger piece once more. This led her to produce Sanctuary, another 5x6’ acrylic painting. This time around, Orellana wanted to move the viewer closer to the subject in order to create a more intimate setting. The subject matter for this painting would be of a couple laying together on a bed of leaves. Unlike Night Owl, this painting took about a year to complete as Orellana had just had her second child and was juggling, both being a stay at home mother, and an artist.
